Process & pricing
How working with me works, and what it costs
No packages with made-up hour counts. Each engagement is scoped to the work your site actually needs, quoted in writing, and reported on in plain English.
Three ways to work together
- SEO audit & strategy: fixed fee
- Ongoing SEO: monthly fee
- Consulting: per session or monthly
Process
From first chat to ongoing results
The same five stages, whatever the size of the job.
- Initial conversation. We talk about your business, your goals and your website. If SEO isn’t the right investment for you right now, I’ll tell you.
- Proposal and quote. You get a written scope and fixed price for the audit or first phase. No surprises.
- Audit and plan. I diagnose what’s limiting your visibility and set out a prioritised plan. What the audit covers.
- Implementation. Foundations first, then content, local signals and authority, done by me or alongside your developer and team.
- Reporting and review. Regular reports on organic enquiries, traffic and visibility, with a plain-English summary of what was done and what’s next. Here’s what good SEO measurement looks like.
Pricing
How pricing is structured
SEO pricing depends on the size of your site, how competitive your market is, and how much of the work you want done for you.
| Engagement | What it is | How it’s priced |
|---|---|---|
| SEO audit & strategy | A one-off diagnosis and prioritised action plan | Fixed project fee, quoted up front |
| Ongoing SEO | Monthly implementation, content, local SEO and reporting | Monthly fee based on the agreed scope |
| Consulting | Strategy, reviews and training for in-house teams | Per session, or agreed monthly hours |
You’ll always get a written quote before any work starts.
Budget
Is SEO worth it for you?
It comes down to what a new customer is worth. If one extra enquiry a month covers the cost, SEO is usually worth exploring. If your average sale is small and the market is dominated by national brands, a narrower focus, like local search or a handful of key pages, is often a better place to start. If you’re weighing it against paid search, see SEO vs Google Ads.
Be careful with very cheap monthly SEO packages. Meaningful work takes skilled time, and the cheapest options usually rely on automated reports or low-quality links that can harm your site.
Reporting
What you’ll see in reports
- Organic enquiries, calls and sales, wherever tracking is set up
- Search Console clicks, impressions and the searches behind them
- Progress on priority keywords and pages
- What was done, and what’s planned next
FAQs
Pricing and process questions
Is there a minimum contract term?
Terms are agreed in each proposal. The aim is for the work to earn its keep, so you can see exactly what’s being done from the first month.
Why don’t you publish fixed prices?
Because the work varies too much between a five-page trade website and a 5,000-product store. One fixed package would overcharge one of them and under-serve the other.
Can we start small?
Yes. An audit, or a focused piece of work like local SEO or a technical clean-up, is a sensible way to start before committing to ongoing SEO.
